It takes into consideration customs, norms, cultural and linguistic sensitivities of the target geographic locale and adapts a product or service accordingly for that locale. Localization can be critical to marketing a product/brand in other regions and helps it connect with users in a new locale.

Localization in the language industry generally involves interfaces of mobile computing and communication devices, localizing User Interfaces of software, websites, and documentation on one hand, and marketing content (both text and multimedia), etc. Parameters that need modification during localization include units of measurement, currency, idioms and puns, taboo words, references from popular media, etc. Localize a product/ service/ document(s)/ content for a specific locale or market. A dedicated resource “Localization Engineer” has to understand the features and specifications before anything else. This is a process where the professional is required to work with a team of translators and has to explain about the features / need and provide necessary information so that they can translate it into the target language accordingly. Planning and Scheduling:

Localization engineer has to plan and schedule all the projects keeping the clients requirements and deadlines in mind. He ensures that all the projects are completed without any delay, satisfying the client and thereby enhancing the credibility of the organization.

Tracking Progress:

It is necessary to keep a track of the projects and identify if there is something that is blocking the desired pace of the project. It is the responsibility of the localization project engineer who monitors and tracks the status of the live projects and provides information to the client.

Review Phase:-

In the review phase, the translated file is thoroughly reviewed by a separate native speaker of the target language.
The final translated file is QA'ed, all pre-delivery checks are done and then the final translated file is delivered to the client.
Feedback from the client (if any), is incorporated and the updated file is shared back with the client.
